James Comey had his big coming out party on ABC News.
How did he do?
At the end of the day, it must always be remembered that James Comey has lied repeatedly and presided over an out-of-control and corrupt FBI process.
Always keep in mind two things:
- It was Comey who presided over and/or signed the FISA Warrant application that vouched for the Steele Dossier. He did so knowing it was not verified. In other words, it was Comey who lied to a Court in what will be judged as one of the greatest/worst scandals in American legal and political history; and
- Comey was fired after the Deputy Attorney General, Rod Rosenstein – a Democrat whose wife represented Hillary’s campaign and Bill Clinton – wrote a memo saying he should be fired.
In his interview, Comey demonstrated his incompetence as a liar as well. How else do explain these two Comey statements?
ABC Interview: “If I ever start considering whose political fortunes will be affected by a decision, we’re done.”
Comey’s book: “It is entirely possible that, because I was making decisions in an environment where Hillary Clinton was sure to be the next president, my concern about making her an illegitimate president by concealing the restarted investigation bore greater weight than it would have if the election appeared closer or if Donald Trump were ahead in all polls.”
In a nutshell, that is who Comey – a guy who can’t keep his own thoughts straight.
The ABC interview did have two important disclosures – perhaps bombshells – e sen though I hate that over-used word:
1. Comey exposed that the FBI never really reviewed the Hillary/Weiner trove of emails in late October of 2016.
On October 28, 2016, Comey published a letter saying that they found more Hillary emails – and he reopened the investigation into Hillary. Then, on November 6, 2016, the FBI cleared Hillary again.
Yet, in his ABC interview, Comey stated: “Well, we know there are hundreds of thousands of Hillary Clinton’s emails there, including Blackberry emails . . . [ and that his staff told him] “We cannot evaluate this material before the election.”
Obviously, the FBI didn’t really review all of the emails. They just cleared Hillary.
2. And don’t forget this nugget from the Abc interview out of Comey’s mouth:
“We hear the word “collusion” all the time. “Collusion” is not a word that’s familiar to me from my work.”
Doesn’t that say it all about the FBI, Mueller and the investigations?
Sharyl Attkisson provides more here:
In the final analysis, Comey’s fortunes are falling as a lawman the more he talks – even if, in The Divided Era, he can make a fortune writing a book. Of course, he made need that fortune to pay for his future legal defense.
