The Top 5 Arguments Against Newsom’s Prop 50
Preserve your rights, Vote No on Prop 50
Gavin Newsom has placed Prop 50 on the ballot to make California the most gerrymandered large state in the union. He has done so for nakedly partisan reasons – as politicians are wont to do. The problem is that Prop 50 is bad for Californians and must be voted down.
Here are the Top 5 reasons why.
5. California has a Constitutional redistricting Commission – unlike most states.
The voters of California passed a Constitutional Amendment that created a commission to provide an independent commission to draw California’s state and federal districts after each census. The voters took the redistricting power away from the Sacramento politicians.
Prop 50 would undo that and substitute lines drawn by Democrat consultants for the federal elections. You should not let them take your power away.
Texas does not have an independent commission. Most states do not.
Vote NO on Prop 50.
4. Prop 50 will make policy worse in California.
California is 50th in the nation in opportunity and affordability, according to a U.S. News and World Report survey. It has the nation’s highest poverty rates and worst startup up business environment and it has the worst in the nation homeless crisis.
You can read more about California’s problems by reading my recent article:
As Newsom Prepares His Run For President, Here is The True State of The State of California
All of that is because of policy choices made in a one-party state. Making California more of a one-party state will only worsen California’s problems. Vote NO on Prop 50.
3. Prop 50 will accelerate people and businesses leaving California.
The world knows people are leaving California in droves. Businesses are leaving as well. As policy worsens, the exodus will only get worse. Vote NO on Prop 50.
2. Prop 50 will Silence Voters.
In order to take away 5 Republican seats in California in Congress, the Prop 50 maps would take rural areas and put them in same district as large cities – often many miles away.
For instance, Modoc country (which is the most far North and East County in the state with just 2 people per square mile) would be in the same district as San Francisco, which is a 6-hour drive away.
In the process, the voice of rural voters’ – voters who own the farms and ranches that are the source of our food – will be silenced.
That is just wrong. Vote NO on Prop 50.
1. Prop 50 Is a Gavin Nesom Presidential Campaign Exercise Paid For By You.
Let’s be clear. Gavin Newsom is running for president. He will declare for the presidency in December of 2026.
Prop 50 is a hundred million advertising campaign for Newsom.
Worse yet, the Prop 50 election will cost California voters $300 million at the same time Newsom vetoed a bill to provide additional pay to California fire fighters.
Newsom is free to run for President.
His ambitions should not be paid for by you though.
Nor should California be hurt to satisfy his political ambitions.

The ballots have landed. The time is now for you to save your rights.
Vote NO on Prop 50.
