James S. Robbins is Senior Fellow for National Security Affairs at the American Foreign Policy Council and a weekly opinion columnist for USA Today. He is an award-winning former Senior Editorial Writer for Foreign Affairs at the Washington Times, author, political commentator and professor, with expertise in national security, foreign and military affairs, military history, and American politics.

During his 10 years of government service Dr. Robbins was the Director of the U.S. Intelligence Community Center for Academic Excellence, Professor of International Relations at the National Defense University, and Associate Professor of International Relations at the United States Marine Corps Command and Staff College. He also served as a Special Assistant in the Office of the Secretary of Defense in the Pentagon.
Dr. Robbins’ awards include the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Joint Meritorious Civilian Service Award, the Maryland-Delaware-D.C.
