On What Grounds?? CA Attorney General Threatens to Sue Trump Administration Over DACA
DACA, the unilateral executive order signed by President Obama after Congress refused to approve the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, was overturned Tuesday by President Donald Trump. And immediately the threats of legal action erupted by Democrats across the country. New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman and Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D-N.Y.) announced that they would challenge Trump’s decision in federal court … ostensibly to say that Trump could not use the same executive power to rescind DACA that Obama used to create it.
California Attorney General Xavier Becerraalso announced he is preparing a lawsuit against the Trump administration. However, none have articulated the Constitutional grounds for such a lawsuit.
