A 2020 Democratic agenda is emerging – and Single Payer Health-Care Is The Center Piece
The Washington Post tells us that the future leadership of the Democrats wants to replace Obamacare with a single-payer (read taxpayer) health-care system. That will amount to a significant movement to the Left for the Democrat Party if their Congressional candidates fall in line with that prescription. Presumably, the Democrats in Congress and those seeking the White House will also be opposed to broad based tax reform.
Of course, tax reform and health care represent two of the three most prominent legislative issues of our times with immigration being the third.
The Democrats’ position on taxes and health care will represent an opening for Republicans. As those Democratic position emerge, Republicans will be able to define their alternative, including the likely passage of tax reform and the replacement of Obamacare in the coming moments.
The only question is: Will the Republicans in Congress act now so that the 2018 midterm elections will provide a clear choice between the parties?

From the Washington Post:
With no clear front-runner for the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination, several prospective candidates are beginning to stir. The process of touching donors and activists has begun, and a Democratic Party message that is beyond simply being anti-Trump is becoming increasingly clear. The Post’s Paul Waldman recently confirmed the consensus that is forming among 2020 Democratic candidates in support of a single-payer health-care system.
