ONE CITIZEN, ONE VOTE!
There are those who are saying that Sheriff Chad Bianco and his supporters are being selfish in their current decision to not endorse Steve Hilton. Calling these people names over their personal decision is a paradoxical conundrum, and actually wrestling away from them the one precious right this nation affords each American: the right to vote one’s conscience. This isn’t a vote for high school prom king and queen, this is far more serious, with far reaching impact, even into the future!
The right to vote was earned for this nation’s citizens during the battle for independence. A great price was paid in blood and for those of us who are descendants of slaves, even a second battle had to be fought to secure the precious right to vote! My own grandfather lived in a time when blacks could not vote! As a child I promised him I would vote all the time and not squander this great privilege and honor. So when I see someone calling me or anyone else childish for not endorsing Steve Hilton, it fills me with anger more terrible than the War of Independence, the Civil War, and the Civil Rights Movement combined!
I have voted for President Trump Three times. I have supported him since the escalator and paid a deep price for doing so. I have been a Republican for fifty-two years down ballot most of the time. Unless it went against my deepest values. I said before with the Presidents poor decision to endorse Oligarch John Cox over Travis Allen, it was wrong and ended poorly. It resulted in an Exodus of good citizens from California, further weakening our base! Now he does it again with this odd endorsement of someone like Steve Hilton over Sheriff Chad Bianco, and again I am forced to say, that was a mistake! As time will unfortunately bear out, again!
Men normally don’t marry lightly. I sometimes think men take marriage more seriously than women do. So when it comes to powerful men, we would be wise to look to the woman that holds his heart, mind, and above all his ear! Scripture has shown us what a woman whispers in the ears of a man can have devastating results on the world. Let’s look at the former Republican Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and his wife who didn’t even take his last name: Mrs Shriver. Look at the mess he made of California, creating this jungle Primary in the first place! And yet, many won’t even give a thought to the wife of Steve Hilton and the impact her influence will have on California and the Nation!
Sheriff Chad Bianco was the first Republican candidate to toss his five beaver hat into the race! A long history added with a kind of “Democrat Fatigue” in 2026 even amongst Democrats has indicated. This would be a solid win and return of a Republican Governor to California. Once it looked like easy pickings for the Sheriff who offered to lead, in comes Steve Hilton and tosses his unsolicited baseball cap in the race!
We had to sit back and watch in horror as this act fractured an already small group, we had to watch Steve Hilton in debates where the Sheriff was absent, and Steve Hilton joined the Democrats in attacking our best candidate Sheriff Chad Bianco! Thereby Firmly marking Steve Hilton as nothing more than an interloper! (With powerful friends).
Remembering Sheriff Bianco garnered the majority of endorsements in almost all the head to heads between sheriff Bianco and Steve Hilton. If the CAGOP were not in shambles, that was a victory endorsement too, for Sheriff Bianco. The majority of Republicans wanted Bianco! My analogy for this new version of Republicans snatching defeat from the jaws of victory is this: A man is set to betroth a beautiful woman, then along comes some popinjay and with no regard to her boo, speaks to her, lies to her, and creates discord among the family members. She is enticed and seduced by dark forces to eventually leave her boo and run away with the popinjay! That would be groom, then within days receives an invitation to the Popinjay’s wedding to his former fiance along with their gift registry and wish list!
Lets all be honest here: how many of you will be getting dressed up, buying a gift and showing up to that wedding?! To expect Sheriff Bianco or his supporters to just fall in line with this level of Machiavellian usurpation used in this contest, actually sheds poor light on those expecting all things to be fine and dandy! It’s either insincere, solely for the sake of the win, or it’s unrealistic! We have entered into a time of great consequences, America hangs in the balance, physically and Spiritually. Each person must weigh their choice, indeed their vote against these metrics each vote will count heavily, a man’s vote is more than just a vote. What we vote for, we endorse!
Having said that, a man’s yes should be yes and his no should be no. His vote should be set atop his faith, heart, mind and community views and be the balance for the scales and the weighing boats that are the Ballot Box and the Bullet Box! Seems we have become too accustomed to compromise and winning for winning’s sake, thereby eroding our deepest held values into a group think. My values and faith should be yours too, isn’t because of the group. It’s because I hold a personal faith and belief, that Jesus died for me! Amen!
With that mindset this really puts the devil in the details and the snare that awaits for us all in creating these illusions of choice. Like a Steve Hilton “dongle.” One man, is not worth sacrificing what one man’s vote really represents: a vote is also a spiritual binding. Be careful what you bind yourself too, your vote will do its most good if you put God first and vote as if God is watching you! It is true God elevates leaders, some leaders are a blessing and some are a curse, yet for both types of leaders we must pray for them! But before we even do that, we must first vote! And our vote is birthed in our free will from God. Amen! God will do His will, as we rags and tatters do our callings. Amen!
Respect a person’s right to choose, respect their right to do with their vote as they see fit, and don’t cast them down for their vote. Do not name call or disrespect them and that way in those times when enough minds are alike and vote a majority; that would be great! Do not covet a man’s vote as your own possession and ask a man, a friend, to give up his precious right to express his own views, faith and convictions! And in doing so, lose a friend and ally simply because not all the time will they agree with you. One God, One Man one vote, Amen!
